Established as a multicultural childrens
theatre company, in 1993, by Nada Awad, an actress from
Yemen, and Frank Brennan, an actor/director from Ireland,
Mirage now produces work across a wide variety of media.
Aims
In addition to producing
work for children the company now runs a very successful workshop
programme for teachers, librarians, EMTAG staff and anyone
else interested in the art of successful storytelling.
All our work is based on the feedback
and suggestions we receive from teachers, etc., so if you
have any comments or requests wed love to hear them!
Theatre
Approximately 22,000 children see our shows each year. They
represent a complete cross-section of Londons races,
nationalities, and backgrounds and for many, if not most,
our show is their first experience of a live performance.
To date weve produced 10 shows and staged over 1,500
performances in schools throughout Greater London.

Dramatising stories for children is a
highly interactive and entertaining workshop or INSET session,
full of practical tips and fun exercises. In a supportive,
non-threatening environment, youll discover and practise
exciting new techniques for bringing your storytelling sessions
to life.

We have produced 23 dual-language audio-plays
in languages ranging from Albanian to Urdu. We currently
have Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Billy
Goats Gruff available and are working on Jack and the Beanstalk
in a variety of languages.
